Starting today and running to Friday, we have invited Financial analysts and criminal investigators from the Eastern, Southern, Central Africa (and Yemen) region, to a Financial Investigations training workshop in Kigali.
At hand to receive the delegation in Kigali this morning, and to officially open the workshop was Ms Gashumba Jeanne Pauline, the Director General of the Financial Intelligence Centre-Rwanda. She was flanked by our project team leader, Frédéric BAYARD.
Over the next few days, besides building networks with each other, the participants of the workshop will learn about the basics of money laundering and the international AML-CFT frameworks. They will also learn about the concepts and relevance of financial investigations and more importantly, how to produce permissible and actionable reports on suspicious financial activities, which are admissible to courts as evidence.
This week’s training will be conducted in both English and French, to accommodate participants from francophone countries.
